I started my career with a purpose. To offer hope to those who feel hopeless. To offer peace to those who are experiencing distress. To offer compassion to those who feel lost and alone. Over the years I have had the privilege of being invited into the lives of others in deeply personal ways. Sometimes in ways that they have never shared with anyone else. Together we have been able to find the path to love, belonging, and connection. After nearly three decades my desire to help others remains strong. I hope to have the privilege of getting to know you and to providing a safe place for you to find your own path.
My Education & Experience
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and National Certified Counselor. I hold two Master’s Degrees, one in Counseling that I earned in 1996 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and one in Clinical Psychology that I earned in 2006 from the Washington School of Professional Psychology. I have been helping people in the mental health field for over 27 years, working in psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment programs, and private practice.
The State of Florida requires Licensed Mental Health Counselor’s to obtain 30 hours of continuing education units every two years. I truly value the importance of expanding my knowledge and skills in order to best serve my clients. On average, I obtain 30 hours of continuing education units per year. That is twice the amount required for maintaining my license. You can be confident that you are putting your trust in someone who has a passion for excellence.
